Biographie :
Chigozie Obioma, est un écrivain nigérian. Il fait des études supérieures à Chypre, où il obtient une bourse et un poste d'enseignant. Après cela, il publie son premier roman intitulé « Les Pêcheurs » (The Fishermen). Une année plus tard, il part aux États-Unis, où il reçoit des cours de Creative Writing à l'université du Michigan. Il enseigne aujourd'hui la littérature africaine à l'université du Nebraska à Lincoln.
En 2015, il est finaliste du Prix Booker, pour son roman « Les Pêcheurs ». Ce roman obtient également le prix du premier roman du Guardian et le prix des nouvelles voix Afrique et Moyen-Orient du Financial Times

Biography:
Chigozie Obioma is a Nigerian writer. He pursued higher education in Cyprus, where he was awarded a scholarship and a teaching position. He later published his debut novel, The Fishermen. A year after its release, he moved to the United States to study Creative Writing at the University of Michigan. He now teaches African literature at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
In 2015, The Fishermen was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and won the Guardian First Book Award as well as the Financial Times Emerging Voices Award for Africa and the Middle East.
